LIV Golfers Can Compete in 2023 Masters

On Tuesday, through a statement from Augusta National President Fred Ridley, Masters announced that they will be inviting all players who qualify under current event criteria, including members of the LIV.

"Sadly, recent actions have divided professional men`s golf by undermining the value of the game and the vital legacy of those who built it," Ridley wrote.

Under the current Masters criteria, 16 LIV Golf members will be invited to play at Augusta National in April.

Smith, DeChambeau and Koepka have all qualified through major championships over the past five years.

Finally, LIV members Talor Gooch, Harold Varner III, Jason Kokrak, Kevin Na, Abraham Ancer and Louis Oosthuizen are currently ranked in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), which means they will also be invited to Augusta.

Gooch qualified through the World Rankings and as a player qualified for the End of Season Tour Championship from the previous year where he was not.

While Ridley's letter explains that Augusta's invitation criteria won't change until 2023, it does note that changes to future Masters tournaments won't be announced until April.

“As we have said before, we review all aspects of the tournament each year and any changes or changes to the invitation criteria for future tournaments will be announced in April, ' wrote Ridley.
