New York Yankees Announce Their New Captain

The New York Yankees have already given Aaron Judge the massive free agent deal he sought earlier this offseason.

On Tuesday morning, they gave him the title of captain, making him the 2022 American league MVP, the 16th captain in franchise history and the first since Derek Jeter.

New York announced the honor at a press conference, officially confirming Judge`s new nine-year, $360 million contract.

Judge said he might be the biggest bet in esports history, but after turning down New York's $213.

5 million seven-year extension offer last year's offseason, his AL-record 62 hit a home run and won his 2022 MVP award.

As a result, he made about $150 million more on the bench

and earned the prestigious honor of being captain of the Yankees.
